Many professionals are involved in transport, so it is often difficult to define responsibilities and risks, hence the existence of various regulations governing them, such as:

The most fundamental professionals in transport are:

1. Customs agents: they are responsible for carrying out the customs procedures required for the import or export of goods.
2. Ship agents (consignees): they are the intermediaries between the shipowner and transport companies, stevedores, public bodies, etc.
3. Freight forwarders: they organise the transport and logistics of goods, from collection at origin to delivery at destination.
4. Carriers: they carry out the physical transport of goods, whether by road, sea or air.
5. Transport commission agents: intermediaries who arrange the hiring of carriers to carry out the transport.
6. Logistics operators: companies specialised in the integrated management of the supply chain, which may include storage, handling, transport and distribution of goods.
7. Cargo brokers: intermediaries who find loads for carriers and vice versa.
8. Cargo inspectors: professionals who verify that the goods meet the requirements and regulations for their transport.
9. Foreign trade consultants: they advise companies on import and export and help them comply with the necessary regulations and legal requirements.
10. Foreign trade lawyers: they advise companies on legal issues related to international trade, such as sales contracts and international arbitration, among others.
